Allium Schubertii is an ornamental onion with large, firework like flower heads in pinky purple tones. The flowers sit on relatively short stems compared with their overall head size, giving the plant a bold, sculptural look in late spring and early summer.
This variety flowers from May to June and grows to around 40cm tall. It works well in sunny borders, gravel gardens, wildlife gardens and cottage style planting, where the unusual flower shape can add structure among softer plants.
