Hyacinth Delft Blue prepared bulbs produce dense spikes of mid blue flowers with a strong, sweet fragrance. Grown indoors, they flower from January onwards, bringing colour and scent to planters, windowsills and indoor container displays during winter.
This popular hyacinth grows to around 25cm tall and is known for its reliable performance. The flower spikes are tightly packed with star shaped blooms, making them useful where you want a simple indoor display with plenty of fragrance.
Plant from September to December in free draining compost, using a planter with drainage holes. Set the bulbs pointed side up, close together but not touching, then keep them in a cool, dark place until the shoots reach around 5cm. After that, move them to a bright but cool position.
