Deadfast Mouse Bait Stations (Twin Pack) are lockable, tamper-resistant plastic boxes designed to hold rodenticide bait safely indoors. They conceal the bait from children, cats and dogs, and are required by law when carrying out amateur mouse baiting in a domestic property. The twin pack gives you two stations, so you can cover two activity hotspots at the same time, and the angular shape makes it easy to tuck them discreetly into corners and against walls.

These stations are the boxes only — no bait is included. They accept all common types of solid mouse bait (blocks, grain, paste and sachets) and are reusable. Each station comes with a key that locks the lid shut, so the rodenticide is contained until the next time you need to refill.

Where to Use

Deadfast Mouse Bait Stations are designed for indoor use only. Place them flat against walls and in the corners of rooms where mouse activity has been spotted:

  • Kitchens, utility rooms and larders — alongside kick-boards, under the sink, behind appliances
  • Lofts, cellars and under-stairs cupboards
  • Garages, sheds and outbuildings (dry, interior areas only)
  • Along walls where droppings, gnaw marks or runs have been seen
  • Either side of known entry points mice use to move between rooms

The angular shape is designed to fit neatly into corners, keeping the station out of the way of everyday foot traffic.

How to Use

  • Unlock the station: use the key provided to release the lid and open the station.
  • Add bait: place a single block, sachet or amount of grain/paste bait inside, on the central bait rod or floor of the station as appropriate. Replace the lid.
  • Lock the lid: turn the key so the lid is locked shut. The station is now tamper-resistant — children, cats and dogs cannot open it.
  • Position the station: place the baited station flat against a wall, with the entry hole facing along the wall (mice run along edges, not across open floor space).
  • Check the station: inspect every few days to see if the bait has been taken. Do not open the station unnecessarily.
  • Refill and re-use: when the bait is consumed, unlock the station, replace the bait, lock the lid and reposition. Stations can be used repeatedly until the mouse problem has been resolved.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is bait included with the Deadfast Mouse Bait Stations?
No — these are the stations only. The twin pack contains two empty lockable plastic boxes and the keys to open them. You will need to purchase mouse bait separately. The stations are compatible with all common types of mouse bait, including blocks, grain bait, paste and sachets.

Why are tamper-resistant bait stations required by law?
UK regulations require amateur users to use tamper-resistant bait stations whenever rodenticides are deployed in domestic premises. The locked-lid design ensures children, pets and non-target wildlife cannot access the bait, and that the bait is contained even if the station is knocked over. A loose block of bait placed in a corner would not be legal under the amateur use rules.

Can the stations be used outside?
No — the Deadfast Mouse Bait Stations are designed for indoor use only. They are not waterproof and the bait inside may degrade in damp conditions. For outdoor mouse problems, use a purpose-built outdoor bait station or contact a professional pest controller.

What type of mouse bait works best in these stations?
Solid block bait is generally the easiest to handle and place inside the station — it doesn't run, spill or scatter, and one block lasts several days. Whole-grain bait and paste sachets also work well. Whichever bait you choose, always follow the instructions on the bait packaging and wear gloves when handling rodenticide.

How often should I check and refill the stations?
Check the stations every two to three days at first to gauge how quickly the bait is being taken. Once activity slows, weekly checks are sufficient. Top up the bait as soon as it has been eaten, and continue treatment until mice stop taking bait for at least a week.

Are the stations reusable?
Yes. Unlock the lid, dispose of any old bait, clean the inside with warm soapy water, allow to dry, add fresh bait and re-lock. Each station can be used repeatedly, and the twin pack here is enough to cover two locations in the same home or outbuilding.
