Deadfast Kill-Vault Mouse Traps (Twin Pack) deliver a rapid, humane kill of mice indoors using the unique Kill-Gate™ system. The enclosed plastic vault design means you never have to see or touch the rodent — once the trap is activated, the kill gate closes and the body is completely sealed inside. The twin pack gives you two traps, which is ideal for treating multiple activity hotspots in a kitchen, garage, loft or outbuilding at the same time.

Unlike a traditional snap trap or wooden break-back, the Kill-Vault is a covered, enclosed trap. This makes it far more acceptable to use in homes with children, cats and dogs, and removes the unpleasantness of having to deal with a sprung, exposed trap. The traps are reusable — empty, re-bait, reset and they're ready to go again.

Where to Use

The Kill-Vault is designed for indoor use only and is best placed against walls and in the places mice naturally travel. Suitable locations include:

  • Kitchens, utility rooms and larders — behind appliances, under the sink, along kick-boards
  • Lofts, cellars and under-stairs cupboards
  • Garages, sheds and outbuildings (interior, dry areas)
  • Behind or alongside fridges, freezers, cookers and washing machines
  • Along walls where droppings, gnaw marks or runs have been spotted

Place the trap with the bait hatch and entry hole facing the wall, as mice tend to run along edges rather than across open floor space.

How to Use

  • Bait the trap: open the hatch and place a small amount of bait (peanut butter, chocolate, oat-based cereal or pet food) on the bait platform at the back wall of the trap.
  • Set the trap: pull back the kill gate and lock it in the set position following the arrow on the trap body. The Kill-Gate™ will hold tension until the mouse triggers it from inside.
  • Place against the wall: position the trap on a flat, dry surface with the entry hole facing the wall, where mice are likely to run.
  • Check the indicator: if the gate is closed, the trap has fired. The enclosed design means you can see at a glance whether the trap has been activated without opening it.
  • Empty and reset: slide open the rear inspection hatch, dispose of the mouse hygienically, wash the trap with warm soapy water, re-bait and re-set.
  • Re-use: the trap is fully reusable — repeat as needed until activity stops. For severe infestations, place several traps in different rooms at the same time.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Deadfast Kill-Vault differ from a traditional snap trap?
A traditional snap trap leaves the kill bar exposed and the rodent visible, which is unpleasant to deal with and unsafe around children and pets. The Kill-Vault uses an enclosed plastic design with a Kill-Gate™ that springs shut once the mouse is inside, sealing the body inside the trap. You then dispose of it hygienically via the rear hatch without ever seeing or touching the rodent.

Is the Kill-Vault safe to use around children, cats and dogs?
Yes — the kill bar is fully enclosed inside the plastic vault, so there is no exposed trap surface that a child or pet can catch themselves on. The trap is designed specifically for use in homes where snap traps would not be appropriate. As with any pest control product, place traps where pets and children cannot interfere with them.

What bait should I use with the Deadfast Kill-Vault?
Peanut butter is the most effective all-rounder — it sticks to the bait platform so the mouse has to work at it, triggering the kill gate. Small pieces of chocolate, oat-based cereal, dried fruit, or even pet food also work well. Avoid liquid baits, which can run and reduce the trigger action.

How do I know when the trap has fired?
The Kill-Vault has a clear visual indicator: when the kill gate is closed, the trap has fired. You don't need to open the trap to check — simply look at the entry side. The enclosed design means the dead mouse remains out of sight until you are ready to empty the trap.

Can the traps be re-used?
Yes. Slide open the rear inspection hatch, dispose of the mouse in a sealed bag, wash the trap in warm soapy water, allow to dry, re-bait and re-set. Each trap can be used repeatedly until the mouse problem has been resolved.

How many traps do I need for a typical mouse problem?
A twin pack is a good starting point for a small-to-medium problem in a single home. For larger infestations, or where activity is spread across several rooms, place two traps per hotspot — typically one against each wall where droppings have been spotted. The twin pack here lets you cover two locations at once.
