By using PIR, the light activates for 30 seconds after movement detected meaning that you get light when you need it, while helping prolong the life of the light. Dual function means two light settings - Summer and Winter - to help adjust the brightness and longevity of the light depending on the needs of the environment surrounding it. The Summer setting leaves the light at 5 Lumen brightness and 50 Lumen when activated, while in Winter mode, the light is off unless activated, at which point it then increases to a powerful 50 Lumen.
