The Miracle-Gro Pump & Feed Orchid Food is a ready-to-use liquid orchid feed in a 200 ml pump-action bottle, designed to take the guesswork out of feeding indoor orchids. One pump into 1 litre of water delivers a balanced NPK 6-2-4 feed plus essential micro-nutrients, helping your orchids produce longer-lasting flowers and stronger roots without any measuring, mixing, or mess.
Ideal for use on all types of indoor orchids — phalaenopsis, dendrobium, cattleya, oncidium, and many more. The compact pump bottle is perfect for windowsills, shelving, and other small spaces where a larger watering can and concentrate would be impractical. Use once a week during the active growing and flowering season for the best results.
Apply by pumping the measured dose into a container of water, soaking the orchid's rootball for around 10 minutes, then draining and returning the plant to its cover pot. The pump bottle means there is no measuring, no mixing, and no risk of over-feeding.
How often should I feed my orchid?
Feed once a week during the active growing and flowering season, typically from spring through early autumn. During the dormant winter months, reduce feeding to once a month or pause altogether until new growth appears.
Does this work on all types of orchid?
Yes. The balanced NPK 6-2-4 formula is suitable for all the popular indoor orchid types, including phalaenopsis (moth orchid), dendrobium, cattleya, oncidium, and miltonia. It can also be used on young orchids once they have at least two or three mature leaves and a developed root system.
Do I need to measure or mix the feed?
No. The pump-action bottle delivers a pre-measured dose. Pump once into 1 litre of water, stir, and you have a ready-to-use feed solution. There is no concentrate to dilute and no risk of over- or under-feeding.
What does "soak for 10 minutes" actually mean?
Place the orchid's clear inner pot into the prepared feed solution so the roots and bark-based compost are fully submerged. After about 10 minutes, lift the pot out, let any excess water drain away, and return the orchid to its cover pot. This mimics the heavy rain orchids get in their natural habitat and gives the roots time to take up the feed.
Is it safe to use around children and pets?
Like all liquid feeds, keep the bottle out of reach of children and pets. Avoid getting the undiluted concentrate in the eyes, and wash hands after use. The diluted feed solution is safe to use around the home as directed.
