Lamplighter
Held in high esteem these lamplighters would bring life to around 80 street lamps an evening each in Victorian times. Also acting as night watchmen they bought a sense of security to the neighbourhood making them well respected. From Lemax this warmly dressed man in his woolly blue and brown scarf, topped off by a black hat plus boots, can be seen climbing his ladder poised to strike that wick to brighten up the surrounding area. Lamplighters really were the unsung heroes of days gone by.
