Situated halfway between the cities of Nottingham and Derby and only a short drive from junction 25 of the M1 motorway lies the village of Trowell; selected as the “Festival Village” for the 1951 Festival of Britain as a typical example of British rural life. The family owned business of Trowell Garden Centre was established in the 1970’s and lies on the site of the old Nottingham canal.

The lock keepers stone walled cottages and the remains of the old sandstone quarry where stone was taken to build the walls of the canal, still exist within the garden centre. Browse amongst our plants, garden ornaments and gifts or visit natural Creations jewellery or the maidenhead Aquatics centre with over 300 tanks of fish including marine. Afterwards you can relax in the coffee shop with a delicious home cooked meal or snack.
